The studio will be closed for the spring break (Saturday, March 11 to Sunday, March 19)

Located in Jubel Hall, the Spartan Light Metal Products Makerspace is a place where Washington University students, faculty, and staff will bring innovative ideas to life and join together to develop ideas that will impact the community and the world.

We welcome both those who are new to making and experienced makers into a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.

Individuals paying for 3D print jobs and laser cutting materials must use BearBucks. For courses or research labs, see How do I pay for materials? in our FAQs.

3D Printers

Printer files will be prepared by members and submitted through 3DPrinterOS (see How do I submit a 3D print job? in FAQs). Makerspace staff will start the print job and notify the user when it is ready for pick up.

Laser Cutter and Bantam Minimill Appointments

The laser cutter and Bantam mini-mill both make a lot of noise when they run. Since there will be classes in the Makerspace during the week, the laser cutter and mini-mill will only be available during non-class times. You must complete the training before booking an appointment to use these equipment.
