The makerspace has two distinct training processes for the Advanced Machine Shop and Studio Space.

The McKelvey School of Engineering Student Machine Shops are facilities that provide students the training and opportunity to learn and practice hands-on manufacturing techniques in a safe and supervised environment.

To use each type of equipment in the Advanced Machine Shop, you will need to complete online trainings followed by an in-person test.

Undergraduate students are required to complete the MEMS 1001 class before testing. Once the in-person test has been passed, you will be approved to use that equipment. This process begins by passing the Machine Shop proficiency and safety training.
