3D Printing

For direct clinical applications only, the center at the BJC Institute of Health on the Washington University medical campus offers a wide range of 3D printing services to researchers and clinicians in the medical community at Washington University and in the Midwest region.

The Shared Instrument Group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science has materials characterization systems, including a 3D printer, that are available to researchers within WashU.

The lab at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology offers unique research and educational experiences in using 3-D Visualization, 3-D modeling, and 3-D printing technologies for multiple medical and surgical applications.

Operates a 3D printing service with several different printers. The service is currently free for residential students and can be used for personal or school projects.
