AM I ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

You must have completed your application to the BS/MS program in Mechanical Engineering or to the MS in Mechanical Engineering degree program before you submit your MakerFellow application.

When is the submission deadline?

All applications for the Fall 2024 MakerFellow position must be submitted by March 15, 2024.

When will I hear back after I’ve submitted my application?

We will review your application and contact you to follow up only after you have been accepted into the BS/MS or MSME program. We will connect with qualified applicants to confirm interest and determine the next steps by April 15, 2024. Do I need to commit to two years as a MakerFellow?

Yes, the MakerFellow program is structured as a two year commitment which includes additional coursework, an independent study project, and Makerspace responsibilities.

Can I be a MakerFellow while doing research in a lab?

No, since both your Makerpace duties and independent study projects(s) are significant time commitments.

Does the MakerFellow position include the summer term?

MakerFellows receive a monthly stipend during the academic year. Students may choose to continue their MakerFellow duties in the summer between their first and second year with the agreement of the Makerspace director or may seek an internship.
